ABOUT

Hi, I’m Sam Squire

I’m a clinical counsellor, writer, meditation guide, and shamanic practitioner.

For more than a decade, I’ve worked in the health and wellness industry. I’ve taught and supported thousands of people through meditation classes, workshops, therapy, online programs, and in-person retreats.

I have also spent the last decade reconnecting with my Nakoda ancestry, which has helped me reconnect with myself at a soul level because Indigenous culture is so rich in spirituality. This journey has shown me that, at a soul level, we are all so much more than our human ancestors. It has shown me that we are an extension of nature. It has shown me that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. It has shown me that who we truly are is what we are here to remember.

My spiritual exploration and cultural reconnection have shaped how I relate to life and all of creation—with mindfulness, gratitude, and respect at the forefront. They have taught me that wisdom lives in the present moment and that Ceremony can be anything that brings us into presence and connection.

Over time, this became the foundation of Life as Ceremony.

To me, living life as Ceremony isn’t a template, recipe, or direct path. It’s a way of being and a way of living.

Life is the Ceremony of remembering who we are.

My work is an extension of this philosophy and of what I have learned through my own life. My background includes communications, journalism, public relations, advertising, and media production, alongside years of study and practice in counselling, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and shamanism.

Today, Life as Ceremony takes many forms. I host a 30-day online group practice a few times a year, offer a three-month Reconnect with Self and Spirit mentorship, and lead in-person retreats. I also share my writing on Substack, host the Life as Ceremony podcast, and create meditations and other practices for reconnecting with yourself and spirituality.

Everything I create here comes back to the idea that we don’t need to become more in order to be enough; we just need to remember who we are.

“I have had the pleasure of being guided by Sam numerous times and I can honestly say she’s one of the best. She is a master at helping you get to a deeper, calmer, and more connected space with yourself. Her passion for creating calm and inclusive spaces is evident in how she shows up and if you get a chance to have a sit with her, I’d highly recommend it.”
